Coach Carmelo D’Anzi was born in Messina, Italy. As an Italian-American soccer player, D’Anzi played for numerous teams throughout his career. He played for the Rhode Island Oceaneers, Perugia, Brooklyn Italians, Francavilla, New York United, Cruz Azul, and the Tulsa Roughnecks, where he and his team became the NASL 1983 Champions.
Coach D’Anzi has coached in Italy and Spain, prior to his coaching career in Dallas, where he has stayed since 1987. His career highlights include winning scoring championship titles seven times and winning five league championships.
He was inducted into the New England Soccer Hall of Fame in November 2006
